• Malicious Wounding *ARREST – On March 7, 2024 Prince William County Police detectives concluded the investigation into the shooting that was reported to have occurred at Aggressive Customs located at 905 Highams Ct. in Woodbridge (22191) on March 4. Further investigation revealed the victim, a 43-year-old man, and an acquaintance, identified as the accused, were involved in a verbal altercation over vehicle parts. At one point during the encounter, the accused retrieved a firearm and fired a round, striking the victim. The parties separated and the police were contacted. Following the investigation, the accused, identified as Sang Kyun OH, was arrested.

Shooting Investigation [Previously Released] – On March 4 at 5:28PM, officers responded to Aggressive Customs located at 905 Highams Ct. in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate a shooting. The preliminary investigation revealed two men were involved in a verbal altercation that escalated when one of the men shot the other. Responding officers provided aid to the 43-year-old injured man who was treated at an area hospital for a non-life threatening gunshot wound to the upper body. The other party, identified as a 44-year-old man, was located inside the business, and detained without incident. The parties were known to one another. No additional injuries or property damage were reported. No charges have been obtained at this time as detectives continue their investigation into the incident to determine what led up to the shooting.
INCIDENTS
• Strong-Arm Robbery – On March 20 at 7:56PM, Prince William County Police officers responded to the 13500 block of Wood St. in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate a robbery. The investigation revealed the victim, a 71-year-old woman, exited her parked vehicle and encountered an unknown man who approached her from behind. The suspect took her purse before getting into a nearby blue van and fled the area. No injuries were reported. The suspect was only described as a black male wearing all dark-colored clothing.
• Commercial Burglary – On March 19 at 8:53PM, Prince William County Police officers responded to a commercial building located at 5731 Wellington Rd. in Gainesville (20155) to investigate a burglary. The investigation revealed sometime between 3 PM on March 5 and 5:40PM on March 19, entry was forced into the building through a rear door. Officers located additional damage to the interior of the building. No property was reported missing at the time of the report.
ARRESTS
• Assault & Battery on a Law Enforcement Officer [LEO] – On March 20, 2024 at 3:14PM, Prince William County Police officers were at Sentara Northern Virginia Medical Center located at 2300 Opitz Blvd. in Woodbridge (22191) when they observed a domestic altercation. The investigation revealed the accused struck a family member, a 28-year-old woman. When officers attempted to detain the accused, he actively resisted and refused to follow officers’ commands. During the encounter, the accused kicked an officer before being secured without further incident. No injuries were reported. Following the investigation, the accused, identified as Kevin Ernesto MARCHANTE, was arrested.

• Attempted Malicious Wounding | Attempted Abduction – On March 20, 2024 at 4:20PM, Prince William County Police officers responded to the area of Andover Heights Dr. and Powells Crossing Ct. in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate an attempted abduction.
The investigation revealed the victim, a 35-year-old woman, was grabbed from behind by an unknown male juvenile, later identified as the accused. While the victim was attempting to separate from the accused, he attempted to stab her multiple times with a pen. A Good Samaritan intervened, and the parties were separated. The accused was located a short distance away and detained without incident. No injuries were reported. Following the investigation, the accused, identified as a 17-year-old male juvenile, was arrested.

• Possession of a Weapon on School Grounds – On Friday, March 15, 2024 at 7:51AM, the School Resource Officer (SRO) assigned to Unity Reed High School located at 8820 Rixlew Ln. in Manassas (20109) was notified of a student in possession of a knife. The investigation revealed a student, identified as the accused, was acting disorderly while in the hallway of the school when a knife fell off him and onto the ground. School staff quickly took possession of the knife and contacted the SRO. The SRO determined the knife was not part of any threat to other students, faculty, or staff. Following the investigation, officers sought petitions against the accused, identified as a 16-year-old male student. After consultation with Juvenile Court Services, the case resulted in formal action and will be go through the court process at a later date.
