PWC Crime Report for Dec. 13, 2023: Suspect located, charged after more than a year

ARRESTS
Child Neglect –
On Tuesday, December 12, 2023 at 11:57AM,  Prince William County Police officers responded to the Woodbridge Forest Apartments located in the 1500 block of Tyler Cl. in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate a child neglect. The investigation revealed the victim, a 2-year-old girl, was left unattended for an extended period of time by her mother, identified as the accused. Officers received information that earlier that morning, the accused was observed leaving the apartment without the victim. Responding officers attempted to make contact with theoccupants of the apartment and were initially unsuccessful. While county police officers were investigating the incident, the accused returned to the home and officers determined the victim had been left inside the apartment unsupervised. No injuries were reported, and the child was turned over to a family member. Following the investigation, the accused, identified as Makene BARNES, was arrested.

Assault & Battery | PWC Public School Staff Member Arrest – On December 8,2023 the School Resource Officer (SRO) assigned to Belville Middle School located at 4901 Dale Blvd. in Woodbridge (22191) was notified of an alleged assault by a teacher’s assistant against a student. The investigation revealed a student, a 12-year-old male juvenile, and a teacher’s assistant, identified as the accused, were walking in a hallway when the accused grabbed the victim by the shoulders and pushed him into a door before the parties separated. The victim was evaluated by the school nurse where no injuries were reported. Following the investigation, the accused, identified as Paul OPOKU AMPEM, was charged.

Armed Robbery *ARREST –
On November 21, 2023, the suspect sought in connection with the robbery that was reported to have occurred at to the Home Depot located at 7486 Stream Walk Ln. in Manassas (20109) on November 17, 2022, was arrested. The accused, identified as Cedric Murrel MILTON, was taken into custody by Fairfax County police.

Charged with robbery
Court Date: January 29, 2024 | Status: Incarcerated

Armed Robbery [Previously Released] – On November 17 at 1:45PM, Prince William County Police officers responded to the Home Depot located at 7486 Stream Walk Ln. in Manassas (20109) to investigate a robbery. The investigation revealed the accused was observed by store security placing items into a shopping cart and then pushing the cart with the unpaid items towards the rear doors of the business. As the accused reached the rear doors, store security personnel confronted the accused who then implied he had a knife and threatened the 35-year-old male employee. The accused then walked out to the parking lot and fled the area in a vehicle. No injuries were reported. While investigating the robbery,
officers identified the accused as Cedric Murrel MILTON, and obtained warrants for his arrest. Attempts to locate the accused have been unsuccessful.

• Armed Robbery *ARREST – On December 12, one of the suspects sought in connection to the robbery that was reported to have occurred at the Elevations One Apartments located in the 14300 block of Jeffries Rd. in Woodbridge (22191) on April 10, 2023 was arrested. While investigating the incident, officers identified one of the suspects involved in the robbery and obtained detention orders. On December 12, 2023 officers located the suspect, identified as a 15-year-old male juvenile, and took him into custody without incident. The
investigation remains active as officers attempt to identify the other suspect involved in the incident.

Armed Robbery [Previously Released] – On April 10 at 9:13AM, officers responded to the Elevations One Apartments located in the 14300 block of Jeffries Rd. in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate a robbery. The investigation revealed the victim, a 45-year-old man, was in the parking lot when he was approached by two unknown men. During the encounter, the men brandished firearms and demanded the victim’s property. The suspects took the victim’s two phones and a pocketknife before fleeing in a blue sedan. While investigating the incident, officers located one of the phones at a local business where it was recovered. No injuries were reported. The suspects were described as black males with thin builds, one of whom was wearing dark colored clothing while the other wore a green jacket and blue jeans.
