PW Police identify suspect, 28, sought in May 26 triple homicide in Birchdale area of Dale City

Triple Murder Investigation *SUSPECT IDENTIFIED | WANTED – Prince William County Police Department detectives have identified the suspect being sought in connection with the shooting death of three men, and the serious shooting injury of a fourth man, following a May 26, 2023 “altercation” at a residence in the 14700 block of Birchdale Ave. in the Dale City area of Woodbridge (22193).

Wanted:  Donald Antonio BARAHONA QUINONEZ, 28, of no fixed address
Described as a Hispanic male, 5’10”, 240 lbs with black hair and brown eyes
Wanted for 3 counts of murder, 1 count of aggravated malicious wounding, 4 counts of use of a firearm in commission of a felony, and 4 counts of shooting into an occupied dwelling

According to a police report from First Sgt. Jonathan Perok, public information supervisor, a group of people was gathered inside the Birchdale Ave. home when the suspect began shooting. Two of the victims died May 26; the third died May 27.The surviving victim is expected to recover, police said.

The suspect fled the scene immediately after the encounter. Following the investigation, detectives obtained arrest warrants for the suspect, identified as Donald Antonio BARAHONA QUINONEZ. Attempts to locate the suspect have been unsuccessful. The Police Department is offering a reward of up to $10,000 for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of this suspect. The investigation continues.

The three deceased men, all of Woodbridge, were identified as Edwin Geovanny SALMERON, 37; Luis Alonzo SALGADO-RIVAS, 41; Kevin Josue VALLECILLO MENDOZA, 23.

Triple Homicide Investigation *VICTIMS IDENTIFIED | INVESTIGATIVE DETAILS – On May 27, 2023 a third man shot during an altercation at a residence located in the 14700 block of Birchdale Ave. in Woodbridge (22193) died as a result of his injuries sustained during the encounter. The investigation revealed a gathering was occurring inside the home when one of the attendees brandished a firearm and began firing, striking four men.
Other parties inside the home ran from the residence after the shooting, including the alleged shooter.
Officers arrived on scene and located the four victims, three inside the home and one outside, suffering from gunshot wounds. Officers provided first aid to the victims until fire and rescue personnel arrived at the scene.
Two of the victims died that day, a 37-year-old man located outside the home who was pronounced dead at the scene, while a 41-year-old man died at an area hospital later that day. The other two men were transported to area hospitals where the third victim, a 23-year-old man, died from his injuries the following day. The fourth victim, a 21-year-old man, is expected to survive. No additional injuries or other property damage were reported. This incident does not appear to be random. Detectives are continuing to actively investigate the incident to determine what led up to the shooting and are seeking to speak with anyone who has information regarding this incident. Quadruple Shooting | Double Homicide [Previously Released] – The shooting that occurred earlier today is now being investigated as a double homicide. Further investigation revealed a group of individuals were inside the home when one of the occupants began shooting, striking four males. The suspect fled the home, and the police were contacted. Officers arrived at the residence and located one adult male outside of the home who was later pronounced deceased at the scene by fire and rescue personnel. Prince William County Police Officers then located three additional gunshot victims inside the home and provided immediate first aid until fire and rescue personnel transported them to area hospitals. One of the men later died at the hospital as a result of the injuries sustained during the shooting. The other two men remain hospitalized, and the extent of their injuries are unknown. At this time, detectives from the Violent Crimes Bureau are actively investigating the incident to determine what led up to the shooting and are seeking to speak with anyone who has information as to what occurred. Quadruple Shooting [Previously Released] – On May 26, 2023, at 2:24PM, Prince William County Police officers responded to a residence located in the 14700 block of Birchdale Ave. in Woodbridge (22193) to investigate a shooting. Upon arriving at the residence, officers located four adult victims suffering from gunshot wounds. The incident was isolated to the residence and the suspect is not believed to be in the area. This incident does not appear to be random. We are still currently in the early stages of the investigation, and any further updates will be posted to our social media platforms.
