INCIDENTS
• Death Investigation – On Friday, July 12, 2024 at 3:20PM, Prince William County Police officers responded to Northern Virginia Community College (NVCC) located at 2635 College Dr. in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate a death.
The investigation revealed that NVCC police located the personal belongings of an individual, later identified as a 20-year-old man, near a pond and contacted Prince William County police. A short time later, the man’s body was located and recovered from the pond by Fire & Rescue personnel. Preliminarily, there are no signs of foul play in the man’s death. The cause and manner of death is pending by the Medical Examiner’s Office.
• Shooting Investigation – On Sunday, July 14, 2024 at 6:49PM, Prince William County Police officers responded to the Potomac Vista Apartments located in the 14100 block of Bay Vista Dr. in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate a shooting. The investigation revealed a 30-year-old man was shot by an unknown individual during a verbal altercation. The parties separated with the shooter leaving in a vehicle. The man was treated at an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries. A shell casing was located outside the apartment. No other injuries or property damage were reported.
• Armed Robbery – On Saturday, July 13 at 10:37AM, Prince William County Police officers responded to investigate a robbery that was reported to have occurred in the area of Henry Ford Way and Mendoza Ln. in Woodbridge (22191) on the evening of July 12. The investigation revealed the victim, a 14-year-old male juvenile, was approached by two masked men who exited a nearby vehicle. During the encounter, one of the men brandished a firearm towards the victim while the other man took the victim’s firearm. The suspects left the area in a sedan driven by an unknown woman. No injuries were reported. The suspects were described as black males, one wearing all black clothing, while the other wore a white t-shirt and black pants.
• Armed Robbery – On Friday, July 12, 2024 at 8:33PM, Prince William County Police officers responded to the 15200 block of Flintlock Ter. in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate a robbery. The investigation revealed the victim, a 15-year-old male juvenile, was approached by two unknown males, possibly juveniles. During the encounter, the suspects brandished firearms before taking the victim’s phone. Both suspects left the area in a black sedan. The suspects were described as tall black males wearing black ski-style masks. One suspect wore a black jacket while the other male was wearing a blue jacket.
• Attempted Armed Robbery – On Saturday, July 13 , 2024,at 12:20AM,Prince William County Police officers responded to the 16800 block of Richmond Hwy. in Dumfries (22026) to investigate an attempted robbery. The investigation revealed the victim, a 20-year-old man, was parked in the above area when an unknown man approached his vehicle. During the encounter, the suspect demanded money from the victim before brandishing a firearm. The victim quickly drove out of the area and contacted the police. No injuries were reported.
• Residential Burglary – On July 12 at 6:27PM, Prince William County Police officers responded to a residence located in the 7500 block of Alleghany Rd. in Manassas (20111) to investigate a burglary. The investigation revealed entry was made into the residence sometime between 9:45AM and 11:00AM through an unsecured basement sliding glass door. Jewelry, a PlayStation 5, and a gaming controller were reported missing.
• Attempted Commercial Burglary – On Friday, July 12 at 9:10AM, Prince William County Police officers responded to Cabela’s located at 5291 Wellington Branch Dr. in Gainesville (20155) to investigate an attempted burglary. Video surveillance revealed at approximately 3:50AM, three masked individuals approached the front of the store before one of the suspects attempted to shatter the front glass window with an unknown object. When the window did not shatter, the suspects got back into their vehicle and left the area. No entry was made into the store and no property was reported missing.
ARRESTS
• Strangulation (Domestic Related) – On Saturday, July 14, 2024 at 3:33AM, Prince William County Police officers responded to a residence located in the 9100 block of Wyche Knoll Ln. in Manassas (20110) to investigate a domestic dispute. The investigation revealed the victim, a 41-year-old woman, and an acquaintance, identified as the accused, were involved in a verbal altercation that escalated. During the encounter, the accused grabbed the victim’s neck. The parties eventually separated, and the accused left the residence prior to police arriving at the home. Minor injuries were reported. Following the investigation, officers obtained arrest warrants for the accused, identified as Adam Bradley HOLBROOK, who turned himself in to the police later that morning.

• Assault & Battery on a Law Enforcement Officer [LEO] – On July 13 at 8:10PM, Prince William County officers were in the 7300 block of Sudley Rd. in Manassas (20109) when they encountered a woman, later identified as the accused. During their contact, officers found the accused in possession of suspected illegal narcotics. When officers attempted to detain the accused, she actively resisted and kicked an officer before being detained. The accused was also determined to be intoxicated. Minor injuries were reported by an officer. Following the investigation, the accused, identified as Adia Lynn SHANAHAN, was arrested.

• Assault & Battery on a Law Enforcement Officer [LEO] – On July 13 at 11:03AM, Prince William County Police officers responded to a residence located in the 11900 block of Brice House Ct. in Woodbridge (22192) to investigate a domestic dispute. During the investigation, officers arrested one of the parties, identified as the accused, for domestic assault. While processing the accused at the adult detention center, she actively resisted and elbowed an officer before being re-secured without further incident. No additional injuries were reported. Following the investigation, the accused, identified as Mary Olivia BYRD, was arrested.

•Assault & Battery on a Law Enforcement Officer [LEO] – On Friday, July 12, 20 at 8:20PM, officers responded to the intersection of Opitz Blvd. and River Rock Way in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate an individual who had left a nearby hospital and was walking in traffic. Officers arrived and found the individual, later identified as the accused, inside a Good Samaritan’s vehicle, experiencing a mental health crisis. When officers attempted to return the accused to the hospital, she kicked, bit, and spat on officers before being secured. Minor injuries were reported. Following the investigation, the accused, identified as Joelishka Marie TORRES GONZALEZ, was arrested.
