Off-duty PWC police officer gets foot run over in shopping center incident

Attempted Malicious Wounding – On November 12 at 1:17PM, an off-duty Prince William County police officer was in the parking lot of Potomac Mills located at 2700 Potomac Mills Cir in Woodbridge (22192) when a vehicle was seen driving recklessly in between and around vehicles.

Once the vehicle parked, the off-duty officer detected an odor of marijuana and approached the passenger side of the vehicle where he identified himself as a police officer to the two men inside. At that point, the driver of the vehicle proceeded to back out of the parking spot at a high rate of speed, running over the officer’s right foot.

The vehicle proceeded recklessly out of the parking lot. Before the vehicle fled, the officer was able to obtain a license plate and identified the driver of the vehicle as the accused. The accused was subsequently located at his home in Dumfries without incident. The officer was not injured. Following the investigation, the accused, identified as Cody Michael CRENSHAW, was arrested.

Charged with attempted malicious wounding, reckless driving, eluding, and driving on a revoked license
