iPad, computer laptop, and a white Mercedes sedan reported stolen in home burglary

**INCIDENTS**

Residential Burglary – On January 15 at 5:33AM, officers responded to a residence located in the 3300 block of Bybrook Ln in Woodbridge (22192) to investigate a burglary. The homeowner reported to police that the burglary occurred between 10:00PM on January 14 and 5:30AM on January 15. The investigation revealed that entry was made into the residence through the garage door which had been opened. An iPad, computer laptop, and a white Mercedes sedan which had been parked in front of the residence were reported stolen. The Mercedes was later involved in the below incident and recovered. The investigation continues.

Armed Robbery | Felony Hit & Run [Previously Released] – On January 15 at 4:06PM, officers responded to the area of Lindendale Rd and Leesburg Ct in Woodbridge (22193) to investigate a robbery. The victim, a 15-year-old male juvenile of Woodbridge, reported to police that he and another male juvenile were walking in the above area when they were approached by four males in a white Mercedes sedan. During the encounter, one of the males implied he had a weapon and demanded the victim’s property. The suspects took the victim’s shoes and a cell phone before fleeing in the vehicle. No injuries were reported. A responding officer observed a vehicle matching the description provided by the victim and attempted a traffic stop. Two occupants bailed out of the vehicle in the area of Dale Blvd and Kaiser Ct. The vehicle was still in motion and struck an unoccupied, parked vehicle before striking a police cruiser. No injuries were reported. A police K-9 responded to the area and located one of the suspects. The second suspect was not located. The vehicle driven in the incident was reported stolen earlier in the day from a home in the 3300 block of Bybrook Ln in Woodbridge. Following the investigation, detectives from the Robbery Unit arrested the suspect, identified as a 15-year-old male juvenile of Woodbridge. At the time of the traffic stop, the vehicle was only occupied by two of the four suspects. The investigation continues.

Reckless Handling of a Firearm | Destruction of Property | Residential Burglary – On January 16 at 3:02PM, officers responded to a residence located in the 2000 block of Jennings St in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate a destruction of property. The caller reported to police that two of the caller’s vehicles appeared to have been struck by bullets while parked and unoccupied sometime between January 10 and 3:00PM on January 16. Several neighbors informed police that gunshots were heard in the area on December 25 and January 10. No injuries and no other property damage were reported. While investigating the above, the homeowner also reported that sometime on January 5, an unknown person entered the residence through an unlocked window. A gaming console was reported missing.

Reckless Handling of a Firearm – On January 12 at 10:55PM, officers responded to the area of Asheville St and Bannerwood Dr in Manassas (20109) to investigate a shots fired call. A caller reported to police that shots were fired in the above area from a passenger in a white sedan. Officers searched the area and located a shell casing in the roadway. No injuries and no other property damage were reported. The investigation continues.

Commercial Burglary – On January 16 at 1:45PM, officers responded to the Trillium Drop-in Center located at 13184 Centerpointe Way in Woodbridge (22193) to investigate a burglary. The business owner reported to police that the burglary occurred between 10:00PM on January 13 and 10:00AM on January 16. The investigation revealed that there were no signs of forced entry. A television was reported missing.

**ARRESTS**

Strangulation | Domestic Assault & Battery – On January 15 at 10:43AM, officers responded to an apartment located in the 1700 block of Shady River Ct in Woodbridge (22192) to investigate a domestic assault. The victim, a 24-year-old woman of Woodbridge, reported to police that she and the accused, an acquaintance, were involved in a verbal altercation which escalated. During the encounter, the accused grabbed the victim by the throat and threw her against a wall. The parties eventually separated and the victim contacted police. The accused fled the area prior to officers arriving. Minor injuries were reported. Following the investigation, the accused was located and arrested a short time later without incident.
