OmniRide has scheduled a public hearing to discuss the proposed addition of Sunday bus services for eastern Prince William County. The hearing will be held on Wednesday, June 15, 2022, at 3-7p.m. at the OmniRide Transit Center at 14700 Potomac Mills Road, Woodbridge, VA.
Sunday service would include Local Woodbridge/Lake Ridge, Dale City, Dumfries and Route 1 routes, along with the Prince William Metro Express. Sunday service would mimic the Saturday service schedule already in place.
“Adding Sunday service to our Local and Metro Express routes in Eastern Prince William County is something that we have worked towards being able to offer for a long time, said Perrin Palistrant, OmniRide’s Director of Operations and Operations Planning. “It is in our mind essential to help maintain and even improve our thriving community by allowing people to access transit every day of the week, because people don’t just need to get around six days a week. We are excited to potentially bring this valuable service to the citizens of Prince William County.”
OmniRide is the operating name for the mobility services offered by the Potomac and Rappahannock Transportation Commission (PRTC). The organization provides Local bus service in Prince William County, Manassas and Manassas Park; Express service for commuters along the I-95 and I-66 corridors to employment centers in Northern Virginia and Washington, D.C.; and Metro Express which connects riders with Metro Stations. In addition, OmniRide’s Employer Services assists local employers who wish to establish or expand an employee transportation program.
