Day care centers and babysitters offered monthly classes in behavior of preschoolers

Fauquier County Public Schools will offer a series of monthly workshops for employees of community preschools and day care facilities and for child care providers who service preschool-aged children. The workshops will be presented in the parish hall at St. James Episcopal Church, 73 Culpeper St., Warrenton, VA from 7-8:30 p.m. on the following Wednesdays:

November 15:  Early Literacy/Speech and Language – Learn how to support language and literacy development
December 13:  Gross Motor Activities – Learn how to support gross motor skills development such as hopping, skipping and climbing.

Topics for the winter and spring are still being developed.  However, the dates are as follows:
·      January 17
·      February 21
·      March 21
·      April 18
·      May 16
Offered at no cost, the workshops are open to anyone who works with preschool-aged children.  Pre-registration is required to be guaranteed handouts and materials but walk-ins are welcome.  Those who are unable to attend in person may sign up for a link to watch the workshops live from home or to view the recording at a later date.

The workshops are funded through the Mixed Delivery Preschool Grant that the Virginia Early Childhood Foundation awarded to FCPS. One of the objectives of the grant is to increase professional development opportunities to community preschools, day cares, and child care providers who service preschool-aged children.
