Community meetings in Lake Ridge Nov. 19 and Dec. 3 on proposed attendance areas for 19 schools

Attendance boundary changes may impact students currently attending 19 schools in eastern Prince William County, including all six elementary schools in Lake Ridge, nine in Woodbridge and four in Dale City.

According to a list provided by Prince William County Schools, the schools that potentially will have changed boundaries are, in alphabetical order: Antietam, Bel Air, Belmont, Featherstone, Kerrydale, Kilby, Lake Ridge, Leesylvania, Marshall, Marumsco Hills, Minnieville, Occoquan, Old Bridge, Penn, Potomac View, Rockledge, Springwoods, Vaughan and Westridge Elementary Schools.

A committee of volunteers is now reviewing boundary proposals for elementary schools to take effect next August for the 2019-20 school year. Boundary adjustments are needed to prepare for the opening of Prince William Parkway Elementary School, 13-room additions at Antietam, Lake Ridge, and Springwoods Elementary Schools, a 10-room addition at Minnieville Elementary School, and a four-room addition at Leesylvania Elementary School.

Members of the public can give their views on attendance boundary proposals at one of two meetings. The first meeting is scheduled for 7 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 19, 2018, in the Lake Ridge Middle School cafeteria/gym. The second community meeting is scheduled for 7 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 3, 2018, in the Woodbridge High School auditorium.

Boundary changes may impact students currently attending Antietam, Bel Air, Belmont, Featherstone, Kerrydale, Kilby, Lake Ridge, Leesylvania, Marshall, Marumsco Hills, Minnieville, Occoquan, Old Bridge, Penn, Potomac View, Rockledge, Springwoods, Vaughan, or Westridge Elementary Schools.
