Christmas Day arrest in Nov. 1 vehicle pursuit and felony hit and run


Vehicle Pursuit | Felony Hit and Run *ARREST –  On December 25, the accused, Dwayne Hakeem WESTFIELD, was located and arrested. The accused was wanted in connection to a vehicle pursuit which occurred on November 1 in the area of Bel Air Rd and Saxophone Way in Woodbridge.
Arrested on December 25:
Dwayne Hakeem WESTFIELD, 24, of 2532 Sedgewick Pl in Dumfries
Charged with felony eluding, possession of stolen property, felony hit & run and driving with no operator’s license

Vehicle Pursuit | Felony Hit and Run [Previously Released] –  On November 1 at 11:37PM, an officer was in the area of Bel Air Rd and Saxophone Way in Woodbridge (22191) investigating an unrelated call when the cruiser’s Automated License Plate Reader (ALPR) alerted to a stolen vehicle that was being driven past the officer. The officer gave a lookout for the stolen vehicle to surrounding officers and was quickly located by another officer traveling southbound on Jefferson Davis Hwy. Officers attempted to stop the vehicle near Opitz Blvd. The driver failed to stop and accelerated away from the officers. While attempting to negotiate a turn onto Dale Blvd, the driver lost control and struck another vehicle that was driven by a 34-year-old man of Woodbridge. After the collision, the driver of the stolen vehicle, later identified as Dwayne Hakeem WESTFIELD, fled on foot. The passenger, later identified as Adrien D’Lante JACKSON, was taken into custody without incident. Attempts to locate WESTFIELD with a police K-9 and helicopter were unsuccessful. Following the investigation, officers obtained warrants for the arrest of WESTFIELD.
