Child allegedly hurt by daycare worker; man allegedly chases woman with car

**INCIDENTS**

Armed Robbery – On May 13 at 4:58AM, officers responded to the 7-Eleven located at 10740 Coverstone Rd in Manassas (20109) to investigate a robbery. An employee reported to police that an unknown man wearing a mask entered the business brandishing a handgun. During the encounter, the suspect demanded money then fled the store with an undisclosed amount of money. No injuries were reported. A police K-9 searched the area for the suspect who was not located.
Suspect Description:
Black male of an unknown age, 6’03”, 240lbs with a heavy build and dark complexion
Last seen wearing a mask, green coat, khaki pants, and black boots

Shooting into Residential Dwelling – On May 12 at 11:12PM, officers responded to a residence located in the 13700 block of Moccasin Ct in Woodbridge (22193) to investigate a shots fired call. Several callers reported to police that multiple gunshots were heard in the above area.  Officers checked the area and nothing was found at that time.  On May 13 at 11:43AM, a citizen located several bullets hole inside of his or her residence. No injuries or no other property damage was reported. Upon further investigation, a shell casing was located in a nearby roadway. The investigation continues.

Residential Burglary – On May 14 at 11:05AM, officers responded to a residence located in the 12900 block of Cohasset Ln in Woodbridge (22192) to investigate a burglary. The homeowner reported to police that sometime between 3:00PM on May 13 and 10:40AM on May 14, entry was made into the residence through a rear door which was found damaged. No property was reported missing.

Residential Burglary – On May 12 at 12:46PM, officers responded to an apartment located in the 1200 block of Bayside Ave in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate a burglary. A resident of the apartment reported to police that sometime between 10:15AM and 12:10PM, entry was made into the apartment through a window which had the screen removed. Money was reported missing.

Residential Burglary – On May 12 at 10:40AM, officers responded to a residence located in the 13900 block of Matthews Dr in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate a burglary. The homeowner reported to police that sometime between 9:00AM and 10:30AM, entry was made into the residence through a window which had the screen removed. No property was reported missing.

**ARRESTS**

Felony Child Abuse – On May 5 at 8:35PM, officers responded to investigate an assault which occurred on April 28 around 6:15PM at the Kindercare Learning Center located at 14050 Central Lp in Woodbridge (22193). A parent reported to police that his child, a 7-year-old boy, had been assaulted by one of the workers, later identified as the accused.  Further investigation by officers revealed that the child and the accused were involved in a verbal altercation. During the encounter, the accused allegedly physically restrained the child in a chair. The parties eventually separated and minor injuries were reported by the child. Following the investigation, the accused was arrested on May 12 at the Gar-Field Station without incident.

Attempted Malicious Wounding | Hit & Run – On May 10 at 2:50PM, officers responded to the area of Jefferson Davis Hwy and Dale Blvd in Woodbridge (22191) for an initial report of two reckless drivers. Multiple callers reported to police that a vehicle was chasing a second vehicle in the above area in a reckless manner. A short time later, one of the drivers, identified as a 32-year-old woman of Woodbridge, responded to the Gar-Field Police Station and reported that she was being chased by the accused, an acquaintance. Further investigation revealed that the victim was driving near her residence when she saw the accused in his vehicle. When the victim attempted to drive away, the accused followed her. On two separate occasions, the accused struck the rear of the victim’s vehicle as she was driving. At one point, the accused pulled in front of the victim and attempted to block the roadway. The victim was eventually able to respond to Gar-Field Station and the accused fled the area. No injuries were reported. Following the investigation, officers obtained warrants for the arrest of the accused. On May 12, the accused was arrested in Washington, D.C. where he remains in custody pending extradition back to Virginia.
