Candidates for School Board Chairman to debate on Sept. 27, Oct. 1, and Oct. 9

The community will have three opportunities to hear the views of School Board Chairman candidates in coming weeks. The election will be held Nov. 6.

Babur B. Lateef, M.D., Interim School Board Chairman At-Large, and Alyson A. Satterwhite, Gainesville School Board member, will speak at three debates.

The first debate will take place at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 27, in the Howsmon Lecture Hall at the Manassas Campus of Northern Virginia Community College, located at 6901 Sudley Road, Manassas. This debate is sponsored by the Prince William Committee of 100 and the League of Women Voters-Prince William Area.

The second debate, sponsored by Prince William Education Association, is scheduled for 5-8 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 1, at the McCoart Building, 1 County Complex Court, Woodbridge.

The third debate, sponsored by the League of Women Voters-Prince William Area, will be held from 7-8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 9, at Dar Al-Noor Islamic Community Center, 5404 Hoadly Road, Manassas.

According to a news release from the school division, “It is possible that three or more School Board members will attend and could discuss issues either as part of the forum or informally before or afterward.”
