ABC store in Marshall to close for improvements; patrons directed to Gainesville & Warrenton

The Virginia Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC) store at 4199-B Winchester Road in Marshall will close on Friday, Sept. 22, for an expansion and remodeling project, according to a news release from Virginia Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control.

The work is expected to take almost two months to complete and will increase the retail store space from 1,500 to 2,985 square feet. It will reopen Nov. 20 at 10 a.m.

The project also includes the installation of new store fixtures, shelving to accommodate the store’s expanded product offerings, new flooring and other interior upgrades.

In fiscal year 2016, the store, one of three in Fauquier County, sold nearly 17,000 gallons of products generating just over $1.3 million in gross sales.

During the extended closure, customers can shop nearby for distilled spirits at ABC stores located at Warrenton Village Shopping Center, 175 West Lee Highway, in Warrenton; 106 Washington Street in Middleburg, and The Marketplace at Madison Crescent, 8038 and 8044 Crescent Park Drive, in Gainesville.
