100 wanted to work out for 100 minutes at Healthy Heart Community Workout fundraiser Oct. 3

Next Level Fitness & Performance in Haymarket is sponsoring a Healthy Heart Community Workout this coming Saturday, Oct. 3, beginning at 8 a.m., with the goal to get 100 participants to work out for 100 minutes.

The workout is to support Next Level client Jim Aram of Advantage Physical Therapy in his effort to raise money for the American Heart Association and American Stroke Association.

Jim lost his brother last year to a sudden heart attack and has tried to find a way to help prevent this tragedy for other families. When Jim announced he would be running in the New York Heart & Stroke marathon to raise money in honor of his brother Tony, many Next Level Fitness clients rallied to donate and help Jim reach his initial goal of $5,000.

But, Next Level owner Colby Schreckengost and his staff thought it would be a great idea to host a fundraiser in the form of a community workout and celebration to help Jim raise even more money.

“So many of us have lost loved ones to heart disease or stroke. What better way to honor them than to do a healthy workout, raise some money for research, and celebrate after with a beer, snacks and giveaways?” says Schreckengost.

Next Level’s goal is to get at least 100 participants to take part in the workout that combines total body and metabolic training. The workout is designed to be scalable to all fitness levels, and is led by performance coaches who can modify exercises if needed. “The main goal is to raise money and build awareness, but nothing reinforces the need for a healthier lifestyle than kicking this off with a fun workout,” adds Schreckengost.

The work out Oct. 3 includes a chance for participants to add a heart with their loved one’s name to the Healthy Heart Dedication board, as well as check presentation, celebration and giveaways. Registration is required; a free t-shirt is included with the $20 (or more) donation. To register go to .

Next Level is located in Haymarket at 6620 James Madison Hwy (same building as Jump-N-Jimmy’s); call 703-754-0161. To learn more about Jim Aram’s fundraising effort go to
